In 2016, the Chinese government continued to push forward reform, and issued various policies to cut red tape, improve people’s lives, and ease the burden on enterprises.

Quality of life always tops the government’s agenda. Starting from 2016, rural and urban residents could have equal access to medical insurance. Meanwhile, more efforts have been made to improve food safety, house renting, and home-made products.

With the roll-out of value-added tax reform nationwide, more than 500 billion yuan in taxes have been cut for enterprises and individuals, generating more vitality of market players.

Cities are becoming more inclusive, with better public services and utilities as more policies are in place to help migrant workers settle in cities.

Meanwhile, medical reform has been moving forward to expand insurance coverage and curb unreasonable medicine prices.

In 2016, the State Council also released multiple policies to improve education and treatment of teachers, and promote social innovation.

The lives of poor families, left-behind children in rural areas, and disabled groups are also improving with increasing support from governments.

Under the support of the central government, transformation and upgrade are accelerating, bringing new momentum to economic growth of the nation.
