Last year, the State Council carried out its third inspection, from August to September, and found that most regions and authorities were doing well in cutting industrial capacity, reducing housing inventory, cutting leverage, lowering corporate costs and improving weak economic links. They also did a good job boosting mass innovation and entrepreneurship, promoting steady economic growth, pushing forward supply-side reform, and improving people’s lives.
To spread good practices, the State Council praised 32 typical regions, including Haidian district in Beijing, which set a good example by constructing innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration bases, and 17 government organs, including the National Development and Research Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which made great efforts in pushing forward the reform of overcapacity reduction in steel and coal industries.
