Zhang Mao, head of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, answers questions at a press conference on deepening reforms to commerce affairs administration for the fifth session of the 12th National People's Congress in Beijing, March 10, 2017.
China will consider using electronic business licenses as it continues to reforms its business registration system to give enterprises easier market access, Zhang Mao, director of the State Administration for Industry & Commerce, said at a press conference during the ongoing two sessions in Beijing on March 10.
By the end of the year, the business watchdog plans to enable enterprises to apply, register and receive their business licenses online. However, enterprises can still use paper business licenses, if they prefer, Zhang said.
By Oct 1, the administration aims to have strengthened coordination between different government departments and launch an information sharing platform. Zhang said the administration plans to cancel some unnecessary certificates and allow enterprises to get related certificates along with their business licenses, making it more convenient for enterprises.
Meanwhile, the administration plans to accelerate and ease the deregistration procedures for enterprises nationwide, particularly for companies that did not become operation and don’t have any creditor’s rights or debts.
