China’s CPI up 1.2%, PPI up 6.4% in April

BEIJING —China’s consumer price index, a main gauge of inflation, rose 1.2 percent year on year in April, the National Bureau of Statistics said on May 10.

China’s producer price index (PPI), which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, rose 6.4 percent year on year in April.

The pace further eased from the 7.6 percent registered in March, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
