State Councilor and Public Security Minister Guo Shengkun on June 21 urged public security bureaus at every level to implement effective measures in safeguarding national security and social stability, during an inspection in South China’s Guangdong province.
Guo said police officers should enhance their ability to better serve the people, bearing in mind the principle of justified law enforcement and strict disciplinary actions.
He also called for effective anti-terrorism measures to crack down on illegal activities, and more efforts to scrutinize public security hazards, in a bid to protect the safety of people’s lives and property.
Efforts should also be made to serve economic and social development and facilitate the lives of citizens, to enhance their sense of well-being, Guo added.
