Measures will protect tourists during holidays
The National Tourism Administration will further crack down on illegal tourism operations for the upcoming National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays.
The notice focused on operations that offer unreasonably low-cost tours, unclear prices and no contracts.
The document also urged local authorities to make plans to tackle anticipated peak periods of travel and prevent situations that could lead to stampedes.
Educational plan targets set to be achieved
By 2020, all targets should be fulfilled as proposed in the 13th Five-Year Plan for Educational Informatization, according to a guideline issued by the Ministry of Education.
In addition, at least 90 percent of vocational colleges should have a digital campus by 2020. Meanwhile, local governments should plan based on “informatized” vocational education with improved facilities.
Insurance to encourage use of new materials
Users of new materials will be covered by insurance, which is governed by a guiding list of first use of key new materials, said a recent notice.
The document was jointly released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission.
The policy is intended to encourage and speed up innovation, with compensation up to five times that of contract volumes with no more than 500 million yuan ($76 million) in government subsidies, the document said.
Ethanol bio-fuel plan revs up on schedule
China plans to use ethanol gasoline across the country by 2020, said a work plan jointly released on Sept 12 by the National Development and Reform Commission and 14 other ministerial-level departments.
According to the plan, the country is set to build an advanced liquid bio-fuel system and develop internationally-leading technologies in ethanol bio-fuels.
A pilot project will be put in operation to produce 50,000 metric tons of cellulosic ethanol per year.
Methods to deal with cybersecurity threats
Online resources, malicious programs and security risks that jeopardize the public interest will be strictly scrutinized, according to a new plan released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The document specified methods to deal with harmful programs and security hazards on the internet.
A new sharing platform will be established to safeguard cybersecurity, the plan said.
Cold-chain logistics to ensure food safety
A standard, efficient, safe and green system of cold-chain logistics is expected to take shape by 2020, according to a notice released by the Ministry of Transport.
The document targets a full-process cold chain, which will create a temperature-controlled environment to transport food that decays easily on the way from producers to consumers.
By doing this, food safety will be improved as better logistics services are provided.
