Why does the State Council put so much stress on Internet Plus?

Communication, shopping, working and studying can no longer be detached from the internet. This trend applies to China as well, with Internet Plus entrepreneurship and innovation, advanced manufacturing, government services, education, medical services, transportation and supervision on food and medicine.

Industries across the board are inseparably intertwined with the internet. An Internet Plus action plan was officially included in the Report on the Work of the Government in 2015. At least 15 arrangements were made at State Council executive meetings to promote Internet Plus. Premier Li Keqiang has persistently pressed for faster and more affordable internet services, laying the groundwork for the development of Internet Plus. The State Council also took action to wipe out improper policies and regulations and set up accessible sharing platforms.

Internet Plus has completely changed our lives. And Internet Plus government services has brought greater convenience to people and businesses. Internet Plus promotes emerging businesses, facilitates transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, stimulates market vitality, and creates more jobs accordingly.

As Premier Li Keqiang said, the reform to streamline administration and delegate powers, strengthen regulations and provide better services, and promoting mass entrepreneurship and innovation, are closely linked with Internet Plus. This will cultivate new economic drivers and shape new engines for China’s economic growth in the future.
