Premier meets Kazakh president

On June 7, Premier Li Keqiang met with Nursultan Nazarbayev, president of Kazakhstan, who is paying a state visit to China and will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Qingdao Summit, in Beijing.

Premier Li said the traditional friendship between China and Kazakhstan has been consolidated and their pragmatic cooperation has deepened. President Xi Jinping held fruitful talks with the president to jointly plan the future development of bilateral relations.

China is willing to continue to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields with Kazakhstan and actively promote a strategic link between the Belt and Road Initiative and the “Bright Road” plan.

Premier Li urged for more cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, energy and resources. He also anticipated that both sides will enhance cooperation under the framework of the SCO and promote people’s well-being.

Nazarbayev said Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the bilateral relationship. The cooperation between the two countries has resulted in fruitful achievements. Kazakhstan would like to enhance pragmatic cooperation in investment, innovation, agriculture, energy and finance.
