Sao Tome and Principe ties boosted

Premier Li Keqiang met with Patrice Emery Trovoada, prime minister of Sao Tome and Principe, in Beijing on Sept 5.
The Premier fully affirmed the all-around and speedy development of the relations and political mutual trust between the two sides after reestablishment of diplomatic ties in 2016.
China appreciates that Sao Tome and Principe has been a stickler for the one-China policy. Premier Li added that China is unswervingly supportive of the efforts made by Sao Tome and Principe in defending its sovereignty and economic independence and facilitating sustainable development.
China is willing to beef up pragmatic cooperation with Sao Tome and Principe in all spheres, in a bid to raise the all-around strategic partnership between the two nations to new heights.
Trovoada extended his congratulations on the fruitful results of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
He also affirmed the smooth-sailing relations and cooperation with China since reestablishment of diplomatic ties. Sao Tome and Principe will stay committed to the one-China policy and strengthen communication and coordination with China in multilateral occasions, he added.
Premier Li and Trovoada witnessed the signing of documents on bilateral cooperation after the meeting.
