Premier: No shortcuts in scientific research

Premier Li Keqiang encouraged research institutes to embrace the spirit of scientific research by devoting themselves to basic research and study.

He made the remarks at the first plenary session of the national leading group on science and technology, held on Dec 6.

With a down-to-earth attitude, research institutes and think tanks should produce research that are of tangible value to the country, Premier Li said.

Further, government departments should solve problems for researchers so that they can study worry free, he added.
