BEIJING — State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Sudanese counterpart, Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed, exchanged congratulatory message on Feb 4 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between their countries.
China and Sudan have always understood and supported each other in the six decades since they set up diplomatic relations, Wang said, adding that the two countries have carried out cooperation with fruitful results in various areas.
Wang said he is ready to make concerted efforts with Al-Dirdiri and take the anniversary as an opportunity to continue to implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries and the outcomes of the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, so as to promote the strategic partnership between China and Sudan to a higher level.
Al-Dirdiri said Sudan and China have always cherished the traditional and friendly relations between them, and respected and supported each other’s core interests, and that the bilateral relations have become a model of country-to-country relations.
The Sudanese side is willing to strengthen coordination and consultations with the Chinese side on issues of common concern, and jointly open up fresh prospects for bilateral relations, he said.
