The State Council has rolled out many measures this year to boost manufacturing, including promotion of the internet, technological development, and quality enhancement.“Made in China 2025” and “Internet Plus” are closely connected, said Premier Li Keqiang while meeting with entrepreneurs from around the world at the 2016 summer Davos in June.
Internet, cloud computing and big data are essential tools to push ahead the smart development of manufacturing, he added.
A document released in May promotes integrative development between manufacturing and the internet. It set a target of 80 percent of key manufacturing enterprises having internet-based platforms for entrepreneurship by 2018.
Seven tasks were put forward for the move, including building internet-based platforms for entrepreneurship and drawing on internet enterprises’ investment in services supply.
In August, the State Council laid out a blueprint for technological development in the coming five years, as a major part of the smart, green and service-oriented development of manufacturing. Also, research in advanced manufacturing technologies is among the priorities.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also stressed the development of an innovation system for the sector through building national and provincial-level innovation centers.
Quality is one of the major concerns of the State Council, which issued a document in June to develop good brands as a requirement for the development of high-quality manufacturing.
Two documents in April and September highlighted the importance of developing advanced standards, as a crucial measure to push ahead quality and upgrade the industry.
One of the documents said a basic standard system for consumer goods should be established by 2020.
